The Coordinator Dr. Rudy Rossetto (SSSA), the Steering Group (SSSA, TEA, TUDa and IDAEA-CSIC), the Core Group (Including all WP leaders and PARAGON), along with the FREEWAT General Assembly, are responsible for the overall implementation of the project as stated in Grant Agreement, Consortium Agreement and Work Plan.

Work Package 2 - Software Integration Engineering and Customisation

The objective of this WP is to build and release the FREEWAT modelling platform by integrating modules resulting from previous EU and non-EU funded projects so to: a. include features addressing specific end-users requirements related to the implementation of the EU water directives or local directives (for the countries outside EU), in connection with WP6; b. release a ready-to-use and well tested version, along with User Manual and support tools for installing and running the software.

Work Package 5 - Application of the FREEWAT platform to rural water management

WP description: The objective of this WP is to apply the FREEWAT platform to case studies to solve issues for the implementation of the Nitrate Directives or other local/national regulations related rural water management in order to: demonstrate the advantages of using the platform; use FREEWAT to develop scenarios for water resources management under the requirements of the EU or national/local regulations for each case study; compare the results of case studies from EU, associated and non-EU countries, providing suggestions for improvements of the FREEWAT platform with respect to the practical application of EU and/or national regulations mostly related to the rural environment.

Work Package 6 - Enhanced science- and participatory approach evidence-based decision making

The guidelines will cover all stages of model development: planning, conceptualization, design and construction, model calibration, predictive scenarios, uncertainty evaluation, model review and reporting. They will be divided into two main sections:

Work Package 8 – Dissemination and Exploitation and Communication

The objective of this WP are: to raise awareness among stakeholders about the project aims and objectives; to ensure maximal exploitation of project results; to update stakeholders with news and improvements about the open source and public domain FREEWAT platform that can facilitate the application of water related European Directives; training of project participants and supporting stakeholders; to foster knowledge among all project partners and to ensure that the project's results effectively reach the end-users and the FREEWAT platform is widely tested and used
