The short course “Introducing groundwater management using FREEWAT” will be held by Rudy Rossetto (SSSA), Giovanna De Filippis (SSSA), Massimiliano Cannata (SUPSI), Jakob Neumann (SUPSI) and Rotman Criollo (IDAEA-CSIC), on April 28th, from 10:00 am to 1:15 pm, within the EGU (European Geosciences Union) General Assembly 2017, which will take place at the Austria Center Vienna, in Wien (Austria).
The objective of this short course is to present FREEWAT modules and to demonstrate some of its capabilities through performing an exercise and showing a set of examples.
The program is the following:
10:00-10:30 Introduction to the FREEWAT project (Rudy Rossetto, FREEWAT project coordinator)
10:30-12:10 A simple exercise on groundwater flow and transport modeling (Rudy Rossetto and Giovanna De Filippis)
12:10-12:35 Showcase about the Observation Analysis Tool and the LAKE module (Massimiliano Cannata and Jakob Neumann)
12:35-13:00 Showcase about the akvaGIS module (Rotman Criollo)
13:00-13:15 Conclusions and discussion
Participation to this short course is free of charge.
A maximum of 40 seats are available.
Registration is mandatory, writing an e-mail to Giovanna De Filippis (g.defilippis@santannapisa.it) and providing the following information:

Prior the beginning of the conference, participants will be provided with all the necessary material (e.g., plugin executable, user manuals and data for exercises) and instructions to install QGIS (version 2.14 or later) and the FREEWAT plugin.
Participants to this course will work on their own laptop.
