After about one month from the end of the H2020 FREEWAT project, a training course “Water resource management with the FREEWAT platform integrated in QGIS” is proposed to present the modules integrated within the FREEWAT platform, a free and open source simulation interface, integrated in QGIS, for water resource management.
The course is divided in two parts:
- the first part, 3 days long, will take place remotely and will be devoted to acquire the basics of numerical modeling for the simulation of groundwater flow and the interactions with surface water, and to get acquainted with software tools for management of hydrochemical data. For this purpose, tutorials (including slides and data sets) will be provided. Participants will perform tutorials autonomously. Technical support will be guaranteed via email, phone or skype;
- during the second part, two days long, lectures will be delivered to present FREEWAT modules for the simulation of solute transport processes in the unsaturated and saturated zones. Lectures will be held in Italian and will be run in Perugia (Italy) on November 30th – December 1st 2017.
Participants will have the opportunity, through the completion of practical exercises, to acquire or strengthen skills in using QGIS, to acquire the theoretical concepts and become familiar with the modeling tools integrated in FREEWAT for simulating the above mentioned processes.
The following training material will be provided for free:
- the FREEWAT software;
- user manuals;
- theoretic lectures;
- tutorials and related data sets.
Participation fee is € 91.50. Registration and payment must be completed by filling this form (in Italian).
A maximum of 30 seats is available.
