FREEWAT present and future…yet a new release and the 1st FREEWAT User and Developer International Workshop

A new version of FREEWAT (v.0.5) is now available and can be downloaded through the FREEWAT website (http://www.freewat.eu/download-information).

Such release includes the following improvements:
(i) Speed-up of the Copy from Vector layer tool, which allows to copy values from a vector layer (e.g., a shapefile or a SpatiaLite layer) to a SpatiaLite layer;

(ii) Possibility to apply the Copy from Vector layer tool only on selected features of the origin layer;

(iii) Improvements of MODPATH, a simulation code for particle tracking;

(iv) Bug fixing in Calibration.

This new version of the FREEWAT plugin can be downloaded along with a complete set of User Manuals and Tutorials, which have been revised to take into account Users’ suggestions collected during the last round of training courses.

Three new Tutorials are available and about:

  • the simulation of heat transport using MT3DMS;
  • the simulation of particle tracking process applying the MODPATH code;
  • modelling the saltwater intrusion phenomenon through SEAWAT.

The road to the first official release (v.1.0) foreseen in October 2017 is so open...

...and on September 21st, within the framework of the FREEWAT General Consortium Meeting, the 1st FREEWAT User and Developer International Workshop will take place at CSIC venue, in Barcelona (Spain).
