The Italian FOSS4G 2019 Congress was organized by the University of Padua, jointly with the GFOSS, Wikimedia Italia, ArcheoFOSS and QGIS associations, and it was held in Padua (Italy) between 20th and 23rd February 2019.
The Congress represents the annual meeting for users and developers of free geographic software, and it is devoted to citizens, researchers, and technicians of public administrations and companies who use free solutions in the field of geographic information.
The program of the Italian FOSS4G Congress included workshops and scientific sessions. Giovanna De Filippis (Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna) delivered a practical workshop about the use of the FREEWAT platform for water resource management, and gave a presentation about FREEWAT applications to selected case studies within the session "OpenGeoData for geology, hydrogeology and river restoration".
