Within the framework of the H2020 FLOWERED project, FREEWAT was used as applied learning tool for the “Groundwater Numerical Modeling” course performed by Dr. A.Barbagli from the Center for Geotechologies (University of Siena, Italy).
FLOWERED objective is to contribute to the development of a sustainable water management system in areas affected by fluoride contamination in water, soils and food in the African Rift Valley countries (Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania), with the aim of improving the living standards for local population.
The course is part of FLOWERED WP6 “Dissemination and Exploitation of results, and Communication activities” and was held at the Nelson Mandela African Institute of Science and Technology, Arusha (Tanzania) from 18th to 22nd February 2019. The course involved researchers, public employees and policy-makers, for a total of 20 participants.
